"SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.-The photographers in the exhibition might consider themselves divas, or perhaps it is their subjects that are the divas. Or, with its aloof and unflinching gaze, perhaps it's the medium itself.
It's all open to interpretation and the choice is yours in "DIVAS: A Group Exhibition of Immodest Photography" at the Robert V. Fullerton Art Museum at Cal State San Bernardino. The exhibit runs Sept. 25-Dec. 13. A reception for the artists will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 3-5 p.m.
The exhibition includes the work of 37 photographers from around the country. One each from Indiana, Colorado, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, one who lists Pennsylvania and New York as his home states, nine others from New York and 23 from California."
Dear Bijma's I.E. viewers,I have taken the liberty to research the photographers exhibiting photographs at CSUSB's Divas show. I haven't been able to find photographs that will be used in the show, but i have found an ample amount of photographs from a few of the 37 photographers to give you a better idea of what to expect.
I don't find the concept behind the show very appealing. I don't believe 37 photographers could assemble a cohesive show about immodesty especially one called "divas". If I were to curate the same show using photographs I liked from the list of photographers, then this is what my show would look like. Enjoy this miniature art show!
